Songs Pt.1

I’m going to start posting songs on here that I can’t stop listening to. Now that myself and my friends are living in ‘adult world’ (sigh) I don’t get to see everyone as often, and one of the most common questions I get when I do see my friends (asides from ‘what’s up?’, ‘how’s work?’, ‘how’s Toronto?’) is ‘so, what new bands should I check out?

Hopefully at least a few people will appreciate this. (Mr. Vickers?)

For those of you who are new to the internet, right click on the artist name/song title and select ‘save file as’ to download songs.

1. Kevin Devine – Just Stay
Acoustic guitars, catchy melodies, well thought out lyrics, strong build-up, powerful ending. Not to mention the ‘whoa-oh-oh’s.

2. Weatherbox – Trippin’ The Life Fantastic
Offbeat instruments, interesting vocals (Attack In Black-esque), solid lyrics and melodies, and most appealing is the progressive style of the song with very limited repeating parts. Who needs a chorus?

3. The Snake The Cross The Crown – Cakewalk
Simplicity at it’s best. A slow and steady buildup featuring banjos, harmonicas, hand claps, and foot stomps.

I guess 3 is enough. More to come, whenever I feel like it.

ps. if you don’t comment, it feels like no one’s reading this. so please comment and let me know your thoughts.

pps. if you have any connection to any of these bands (label, management, etc) and wish for the songs to be taken down and the free promo to also be taken down, just let me know and i’ll do so.
