Here I am, awake at 9am on a Monday morning. Why? Well, in short, it’s because I was up all night with friends Friday night, getting some sleep only after heading to the field to watch the sun rise. After waking up on Saturday afternoon, we went out once again and didn’t sleep until after the sun was up. So yesterday was spent in the comforts of my room, not accomplishing much, but returning my body to a somewhat normal sleep pattern. To make that shorter, I didn’t sleep much this weekend so I fell asleep early last night and slept a whole bunch until now.

I have one more full week of vacation to be spent at home in Stroud. So far, it’s been great, but there are a whole lot of friends yet to see.

If you are one of those people, let’s hang out this week.

“I woke up this morning ready for heartbreak. That is, I awoke to feel my internal compass pointing in your direction, and when I’m drawn to you it is not uncommon for such a thing to happen. I haven’t read your words in a while now. Truth be told I’ve kept you out of my thoughts more-so than I thought would be possible yet. But not this morning; this morning I was prepared to hear about your life, and if I had been replaced yet by someone new, someone temporary, or simply in thought.

I woke up this morning ready for heartbreak. And while no evidence was found to make such a thing true, I was prepared enough to allow it to happen anyway. In missing you, with no such way to express it to you, such a thing is accomplished.”

Well said.
